NeoCide® GML-2 (Diazolidinyl Urea) is used in In vitro diagnostic (IVD) products such as diluent and detergents. The recommended concentration is 0.1-0.3% by weight which is synergistic with most of biocides like Bronidox-L, Bronopal, IPBC, Phenoxyethanol and PC-150 and can be a replancement of Sodium Azid. | ||||
Description:
GML-2 is a dual imidazolidinyl urea antimicrobial agent, also known as bis(hydroxymethyl)imidazolidinyl urea. It is part of the NeoCide series for in vitro diagnostics
A type of antimicrobial agent for reagents, with the main ingredient being Diazolidinyl Urea (ISP trade name)
Germall II, also known as Germall-2, is a white, flowable powder product with a slight formaldehyde odor. It is hygroscopic, but its hygroscopicity does not affect its performance.
Antimicrobial activity.
GML-2 bisimidazolyl urea antimicrobial agent is used for in vitro diagnostic reagents, buffer solutions, diluents, cleaning Liquid, it can replace sodium azide and can be used in combination with commonly used IVD antimicrobial agents.
Chemical Properties:
The general concentration of GML-2 bisimidazolyl urea in vitro diagnostic reagents is 0.1-0.3% (approximately added to 1000L of reagent).
1Kg-3Kg), often used in dilution and cleaning solutions, together with Bronidox-L (BND-10), Bronopal (BNP-10),
IPBC, benzyl alcohol, PC-150 used together.
The antibacterial ability of GML-2 bisimidazolylalkylurea is not affected by surfactants, proteins, enzymes, and other components in vitro diagnostic reagents
The influence of additives. The pH range is 3-9, and as the pH value increases, the activity gradually weakens. When encountering amines...
Substances such as amines (primary amines, secondary amines) and sulfides (thiols, sulfides, sulfites) will reduce their antibacterial performance.
GML-2 bisimidazolidinyl urea is easily soluble in water, soluble in propylene glycol and glycerin, and insoluble in ethanol. It is recommended to store it in a dry, airtight container.
Store at room temperature or low temperature, with a shelf life of two years. The product should not be frozen or stored above 30oC.
Case Study:
Generally, in vitro diagnostic reagents tend to use a concentration of 0.2% GML-2 for formulation.
1. Swiss company Roche's Anti-Fluorescein-POD (P/N: 11426346910), Fab
Fragments from sheep (ELISA), antibacterial agent used 0.2% equivalent product.
2. Sweden's CanAg Cancer-Related Antigen CA125 Quantitative Assay Kit (Enzyme-Linked
(Immuno Law) The cleaning solution contains Tween 20, Tris-HCl, and dimethylthiourea bacteriostatic agent.
3. PerkinElmer's DELFIA Wash Concentrate (P/N 40100010)
25-fold concentration of Tris-HCl buffered (pH 7.8) salt solution with Tween 20.
Contains Diazolidinyl Urea as preservative.
4. Immunodiagnostic Systems (IDS) WASHBUF TBS/Tween
Solution pH 7.65-7.85, containing 0.2% dimethylimidazolidinone urea bacteriostatic agent.
