Application | ||||
HEPES, as a biological buffer, can be widely used in biochemical diagnostic reagent kits, DNA and RNA extraction kits, as well as PCR diagnostic kits. It has no toxic effects on cells and helps maintain a relatively constant pH during open cultivation or cell observation. The recommended concentration is generally 10-50 mmol/L, with 20 mmol/L being sufficient for buffering capacity. It is important to note that HEPES does not provide nutrients to cells. It is only added to the culture medium when cells need to be handled outside the CO2 incubator for an extended period of time, in order to enhance buffering capacity. | ||||
